“Our mission is to encourage the pastors and church workers in Nigeria to be faithful to the truth in correct doctrinal teaching and preaching of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
John 4:23-24
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”
True worshipers are those who realize that Jesus is the Truth of God (3:21; 14:6) and the one and only Way to the Father (Acts 4:12). To worship in truth is to worship God through Jesus.
The Father is seeking true worshipers because He wants people to live in reality, not in falsehood. This requirement makes it imperative for those that are called to preach and teach the word of God to do so with all honesty and faithfulnessto thetruth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
To serve the Lord in truth means to preach Jesus as the truth of God and the only way to the Father. We intend to work with pastors and church workers in a manner that encourages them to measure their work against God’s requirement of true worshipers. Pastors and church workers must themselves know Jesus as the truth of God and they in turn must make Him known as such.
Serving the Lord in Truth means sticking with the truth, even when it hurts, and deliberately making no room for deviation or preaching and teaching errors. We must preach repentance of sins.However unpopular and uncomfortable it may seem, salvation depends on repentance from one’s sins and acceptance of Jesus as Lord and personal Saviour.
2 Corinthians 4:2
Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
* The way you look at your ministry helps to determine how you will fulfill it. If you look on serving Christ as a burden instead of a privilege, you will be a drudge and do only what is required of you.
When Paul considered the fact that he was a minister of Jesus Christ, he was overwhelmed by the grace and mercy of God. His positive attitude toward the ministry had some practical consequences in his life.
* It kept him from being a quitter
* It kept him from being a deceiver
* It kept him from being a self-promoter
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me put it into practice.Philippians 4:9
There is no better example of serving the Lord in truth than that of Apostle Paul in the way he served God. To aspire to be like him the way he served God, and to emulate his ways of preaching and teaching the truth will be a worthwhile challenge for any pastor or Church worker who wants to serve God in truth.
2 Tim 2:1-2
“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.”
The ministry is not something we get for ourselves and keep to ourselves. We are stewards of the spiritual treasure God has given us. It is our responsibility to guard the deposit and then invest it in the lives of others. They, in turn, are to share the Word with the next generation of believers.
A true servant of God must ensure that the treasure of God (the word of God) that we received and are passing to future generation remains the truth as it was told to us without any dilution.
